Day5
Indians managed to draw the 2nd test match after they allowed playing follow on, New Zealand bowlers tried hard for two and half days but they can only take 4 Indian wickets.
The match has been called off as a draw by the two captains even though there are 15 over left for the day.
On day5 it’s Laxman who played brilliantly for his 124. The star of the day is Laxman.

By the end of Day4 Indians are trailing by 62 runs. The star of the day was Gambhir who made a waiting century, New Zealand bowlers tried hard and bowled well but able to take only one wicket i.e. of Rahul Dravid who made patience 62 of 220 balls. Gambhir and Dravid had a good partnership of 130 runs, Sachin also played well for his 58 in 113. This is the 5th test hundred and 1st test hundred for Gambhir. On the other hand New Zealand bowlers bowled well, fielded superb not given any easy runs to Indian. Playing the whole day the Indians can only make 200+ runs, the credit goes to New Zealand bowlers.

Sachin Tendulkar missed out a half century. He was out at 49 in Patel bowling.

New Zealand totally controlled the second day of 2nd test match, the double century of Ryder (201) and century from McCullum (115) help New Zealand to reach mammoth total of 619, and New Zealand captain DL Vettori once played his role in batting by making 55 runs. The New Zealand batting ended at 619/9 declare by Vettori.
India started their batting well but at the end India loss wickets, Indian were 79/3 at the end of the day.

The test between New Zealand and India started on march 26, 2009, the dates for the test match are March 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 2009, played at McLean Park, Napier.
New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first in 2nd test. According to Daniel Vettori as the pitch is good for batting and he wanted his batsmen to play minimum 120 over against Indian bowling attack.
As the match started New Zealand loss 3 early wickets of TG McIntosh (12), MJ Guptill (8), JM How (1), and New Zealand were 23/3 in the beginning of the match. Then Taylor and Ryder revive the New Zealand innings, with their record partnership New Zealand were 294/4. 271 run partnerships between Taylor and Ryder was the highest for 4th wicket with India.
That’s great come back by New Zealand batmen after the defeat in 1st test. New Zealand on day1 of second test made 351/4 with still batting has to come. Jesse Ryder is batting on 137 not out and Franklin on 26 not out. Beginning of the day was good for India but the closing was disappointing. According to statistics the 60% day goes to New Zealand and 40% goes to India.
The Indians were poor in fielding by dropping to catches of Taylor when he was on the scores 4 and 92.
